two. zero. zero. eight.

“God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of His own devisng, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players (i.e., everybody), to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won’t tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.” – Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, ‘Good Omens’.

Indeed…indeed. In all reality just another day. Nothing special happens with a socially-constructed and thus agreed-upon ‘year’ changes, but in all tangible reality, something always important:

Here we are. Again. What shall it be this time, then?

Attended my first Notre Dame men’s basketball game this afternoon. Not really my sport, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Might make it a point to hit a couple games a season, I think the tickets are fairly inexpensive.

  1. I used to go to the Women’s ND games with a friend of mine who was very into basketball. Basketball is the only sport I can watch. And I think women’s basketball is particularly aggressive.

  2. Our hand-me-down dog was named Muffet after the ND women’s BB coach. She even came to us with a touch of green still on her fur.

  3. I love “Good Omens”. Been too long since I read it, actually. The last I remember was in the backroom of a Waldenbooks, reading a little each day on my lunch break.

I just realized that was, like, 6 years ago.

I’m going to go look carefully at my life now. See you Friday at Chicory.
