"I thought what I’d do was…

…I’d pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.”

Don’t worry, I was taking you seriously, almost (almost), until you spoke with some kind of pride that you ‘understood’ a reference to Foucault.

Your mispronunciation of his name is what gave you away, old fiend.

Overplaying of the hand. Don’t worry, it’s a beginner’s mistake.

Professor McInerney told us on the first night of class, those years ago, that the misspelling of the name of someone like Foucault would be considered a severe offense, as he would never misspell -our- name in a paper.

What would he think of you, Arrogant Guy (2nd ed.) ?

I love senior seminar.

  1. HA! I freaking love it when people try to say something that shows them to be uber-intellectuals and then say something that makes them look incredibly stupid. So many of them do mispronounce Foucault’s name…it makes me smile on the inside.

  2. What is the deal with “Senior Seminar?” Education majors don’t have that. We do have a seminar that coincide with student teaching, which meets 10 times over the course of the semester, but how many times do you have to take it? 2 semesters? And then, what is it?

  3. No, 99% of people will only have to endure it once, but due to janky circumstances I’m taking it twice (Got an A last time, didn’t fail, but it can be retaken for credit, and I need the credit).

It’s basically just a very in-depth course in literature / writing / basically whatever the professor teaching it decides to do it on. Meets once a week for 2.5 hours, every week of the semester.

  4. I’ve heard the class has a very eclectic group of folks. I’m glad I’m done with that.

Sally Smits, however, is teaching a kick butt Women and Spirituality course.

And how the heck are you?

  5. And in swoops Rachel with THE TRUTH CHARMI WON’T SAY (said in that deep, scary, ominous newsman voice):

eclectic group of people = whole lotta idiots

Charmi, I SO wish I was in that women and spirituality course with you.

Oh, and I’m going to have issues with that class…I can’t sit anywhere for 2.5 hours at once.

  6. Rachel – I’m not always so kind. I asked the young woman sitting next to me in Physics to stop talking today so I could hear the professor. I don’t think she wants to be my friend anymore đŸ˜‰

And yes, you would like Sally’s class, and no, I don’t want to sit for 2.5 hours either AND where were you today when you should have been in French?!?!!!
